Mexican deported 7 times pleads guilty to illegal status

(Bay City Times) A Mexican immigrant who has been deported seven times only to be caught in Bay County, has pleaded guilty to illegally entering the U.S. again.

As a result, he could face federal prison time.

Rafael Munoz-Molina on Tuesday, May 30, appeared before U.S. District Magistrate Patricia T. Morris in the federal courthouse in downtown Bay City and pleaded guilty to one count of illegal reentry of a previously removed alien. The charge is punishable by up to two years’ incarceration.

Court records state Munoz-Molina’s sentencing guidelines range from eight to 14 months in prison. Munoz-Molina will also be required to pay a $100 assessment fine and the court may impose a fine of up to $250,000. He is also facing deportation to Mexico.
