Man who challenged Paul Ryan: ‘We’re defenders of this generation’

In Britain, mosques continue to open while churches continue to close. Elements of Shariah law have crept into the British legal system, satisfying the more than four in 10 British Muslims who say they want parts of Islamic law to replace British law.

And as the world found out in Manchester and London recently, Britain remains painfully vulnerable to terrorism.

American businessman and politician Paul Nehlen hopes Britain finds the wherewithal to expel the throngs of Muslim “refugees” who have begun to transform their country. Moreover, he hopes the United States will turn away from the path its mother country is following.

“Here in the United States, we’ve got our culture, we’ve got our heroes, we’ve got our holidays, we’ve got our traditions, and if we don’t defend those, we’re going to lose them,” Nehlen said in a recent interview on the “Caravan to Midnight” radio show.

“They’re going to be erased, and the future will be written and the past will be rewritten in such a way that our offspring and our offspring’s offspring and generations to come won’t even know what the United States was all about.

“So we’re the defenders of this generation. It’s been put on our shoulders now. It’s our turn.”

Nehlen, who directed and produced the new documentary “Hijrah: Radical Islam’s Global Invasion,” noted it is the U.N. that vets the refugees who enter the United States. The U.N. High Commissioner on Refugees is currently drawing many of its refugees from camps in Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East. There are plenty of Christian refugees in the region, but very few of them make it to the U.S. as refugees.

“You ask yourself, why aren’t we pulling all the Christians out and letting the Muslims fight it out between each other? Because they’re the ones who are fighting,” Nehlen reasoned. “Well, the answer is because they’re pulling from these pools of refugees where, if a Christian tries to get into that camp, they terrorize the Christian, they harass the Christian, they’ll kill the Christian if they try to get into that camp.”

The U.N. works with nine voluntary agencies, or VOLAGs, to resettle refugees in the United States. Although these nine private contractors have humanitarian-sounding names, and although some are affiliated with Christian or Jewish denominations, they receive over a billion dollars a year to resettle refugees, according to Nehlen.

In fact, he said, the more refugees they resettle, the more money they receive. What’s more, the leaders of these organizations make six-figure salaries.

“The highest-paid guy in those organizations that I found, and I researched every organization and I looked at their tax documents, he made over $660,000 last year. Now I ask you: Is that a purely humanitarian cause, or is it a profit motive? If it’s a profit motive, in my mind, using your taxpayer dollars and my taxpayer dollars – that, sir, is a racket.”

Nehlen acknowledged many Americans are furious at the refugee “racket,” but he cautioned that anger is not enough.

“We all have to channel that anger and disgust into action,” he warned. “There’s got to be productive action. Getting angry doesn’t get anything done.”

One productive action, in Nehlen’s opinion, is the passage of good legislation. He pointed to the Resettlement Accountability National Security Act of 2015 (H.R. 3314), which was introduced last session by Rep. Brian Babin, R-Texas. The bill would prohibit the admission of refugees into the U.S. until Congress passes a joint resolution giving the Department of Homeland Security authority to continue admitting refugees. It would also require the Government Accountability Office to report to Congress on refugees who received benefits under various social welfare programs.

The most important bill in Congress right now, according to Nehlen, is the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act of 2017 (H.R. 377), introduced in January by Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla. The bill would call on the State Department to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization.

Both bills have stalled in the House. Nehlen blames Speaker Paul Ryan, whom he challenged in last year’s GOP primary, for failing to bring the bills to the floor for a vote.

“The one thing you could do that would be most positive is write your congressman, write a letter to your local newspaper in the op/ed section that you want to see Speaker Ryan and your congressman – push them, have them sign onto H.R. 377 as a cosponsor, and get that thing voted on and force President Trump, essentially, to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization,” Nehlen urged his radio audience.

“Because that will wrap up CAIR, it’ll wrap up 20, maybe over 30 organizations that roll up into the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Nehlen, who ran for Congress last year and is thinking about running again in 2018, encourages people to utilize their freedom as Americans by participating in government. There was a time he thought somebody would run against Ryan, but when nobody stepped up, he realized he would have to be the one to do it. He urges Americans to step up to the plate if they want to see a change, whether it means running for Congress or their local school board.

Above all, he encourages citizens to resist complacency in the Trump era and keep on fighting for the candidates they want to see in office, whether state, local or federal.

“Do not be flippant,” he warned. “Do not think that because the Democrats have lost so many statehouses, so many state legislatures, so many seats in Congress, the presidency, they have lost so much during the Obama period. … Do not think, ‘Oh, we’ve got Trump, we’re good now.’ That is the last thing you want to think. You have got to be active. You have got to be out pushing for your person.”
