Assistant principal arrested for DWI at graduation

(EAGNEWS) — HICKORY, N.C. – A high-school assistant principal faces a DWI charge after police allege he crashed his car into two parked vehicles during his school’s graduation ceremony.

Police contend Bunker Hill High School Assistant Principal Jonathan Andrew Stiles “was involved in a vehicle accident” at Catawba Valley Community College shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday, according to a police report cited by the Hickory Record.

An officer who responded to the scene found the “smell of alcohol on the defendant’s breath” and evidence of damage to two vehicles near a parking spot Stiles attempted to negotiate.
